Silenced.in shares the stories of people caged in solitary confinement in Michigan. It features a long-form, scrolling animation and a digital archive of over 100 letters, drawings, and paintings shared by people inside, as well as allies inspired by the letters.
Produced by Zealous and Open MI Door and designed by Michael Deal, I built the high-touch front-end and integrated it with the Django content management system for staff and volunteers to add artwork and letters over time.
The site was recognized by the Webby and Anthem Awards, and featured in Communication Arts, Rolling Stone, and Esquire.
